Shepherd of the Valley is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our five star facility in Warren, Ohio. available. This is for 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. shift.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) communicates a sense of caring, concern and dignity for our residents and is responsible for:

 

  • Directly supervising staff members in the Nursing Department and may be responsible for nursing care in a particular unit.
  • Explains procedures and treatments to residents to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
  • The RN maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of resident.
  • Communicates with family members regarding the progress of the resident.
  • Charts all required and necessary information regarding the residents.
  • Required to observe and direct the nurse aide staff and assist in orientation of new staff.
  • Observes resident, records significant conditions and reactions to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. 
  • Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
  • Initiates a resident education plan according to the individualized needs of the resident, as prescribed by facility policy including resident and family instruction.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS OF Registered Nurse   :

  • Must hold a Nursing Degree from an accredited program or college/university
  • A current, unencumbered, active Ohio RN license and current CPR
  • At least one year experience in Long Term Care
